Morgan (Sun-Ki Back) was born Dec. 8th, 1958 in Seoul, Korea. He graduated from South Seoul High School in 1980 and then attended Kyung-Ki University where he majored in Fine Art and graduated in 1984.

He served in the military from 1985 to 1987. During his early years, Morgan was an artist living and painting in the countryside of Kyung-Ki, Seoul.

Although he was raised in an urban area, he became deeply interested in life in the rural regions. He enjoyed visiting his grandfather who lived in a rural area and sketched the landscape during his time there. His grandfather invited young Morgan to his home frequently to help him discover his artistic sensibilities and let him paint objects around his home. This is how Morgan began painting professionally.

His early style combined his passion for landscapes and seascapes with a formal sense of accuracy. Now Morgan has changed his formal style into an impressionistic style. His paintings consist of impressionistic European street scenes, Venice, and various landscapes.
