Yesterday we were able to spend some time with Arthur McCall while the staff at J.R. Mooney Galleries of Fine Art prepared a photo shoot for the McCall article that will be in Boerne’s Explore Magazine.
Arthur was gracious enough to come on down to the gallery so we could see him in action while he talked about his new pieces that were in the works and “on the easel”.
The details in the San Juan Mission painting were so intense. He was able to capture the angles of the old buildings and the compound around the mission. The signature Rose Window was eloquently depicted. Plus, the horse and corral painting was slated to get 5 or 6 more horses to liven up the corral pen.
