Daniel Young was born in Korea in 1950 and he grew up by the ocean. As a
youngster, he would often draw pictures with his fingers on the sand at
the beach. This early exposure to art led Young to receive formal art
training. Young has always been fascinated by the combination of the
ever changing movements of the clouds that would cover and then expose
the sunlight onto the constant variations of the waves. In Venice, he
was moved by the mixture of the water and the lights of the city as well
as the reflection of the sunlight. Since then he has focused on
painting Venetian scenes.
